Iván Argote has imagined an installation called "Another Way", which consists of a flow of pink cement that crosses the steps and marks the presence of another landscape, where the natural and the artificial coexist (emerging from the cement, here and there, plant elements collected by the artist in the surroundings of the Villa Medici). The hardened soft material gives form to another path in which a subtle text is inscribed legible in the sense of the climb. Argote’s intervention, tailor-made for this space, diverts the monumentality of the staircase and attests to an interest in subtle and poetic forms of resistance.
