Un Chemin Commun is a permanent installation on the new site of the Lyon Biennial.
It consists of a concrete path (and bench) 50 metres long and 40 centimetres high, which, by drawing loops on the ground, creates a particular path. On the surface of the path, a text in French and English speaks of tenderness and commitment, and invites us to create new worlds together.

The work is designed to be both walked and contemplated, but above all as a place to meet, rest and reflect in the public space. A place where words intertwine as they do with visitors’ journeys.
Un Chemin Commun is a continuation of Argote’s work, such as Oui ma vie and A Point of View, which blend architecture and poetry, calling on us to imagine the public space as an ethical and political playground. In each of his creations, Argote questions our relationship with space, time and people, and challenges us to dream of a world founded on freedom, tenderness and hope.
